Properly fix Settings NPE issue

Multiple reports, e.g. Flow-Launcher/Flow.Launcher#1471 , Flow-Launcher/Flow.Launcher#1472, Flow-Launcher/Flow.Launcher#1375, complain about the NPE when trying to call settings.Save().

#18 is merged but we still have not identified the root cause of the problem.
