Will this driver work for pcHDTV 5500?
I've got a pcHDTV HD-5500 PCI card lying around and am wondering about its utility for SDR and general capture applications. It was originally used to capture ATSC TV and I opted to replace it with a Hauppauge WinTV-quadHD card for use with MythTV and ability to capture 4 channels at a time.
I see that in #10, there is mention of how different the cx23888 chip is from other models such that this driver won't support the Hauppauge quadHD card for this particular purpose. However, from some reports the pcHDTV card has a cx23883 chip instead. Additionally, the MythTV wiki has some details about this card being able to pass through audio analog tuner capture over the PCI bus, also with possible ability to enable this feature over I2C bus with a cx88_eeprom
utility.
Finally, some promising information from the pcHDTV company founder can be found here, with some more details on the hardware in this card:
- Thomson DDT 7610 ATSC/NTSC tuner
- Oren demodulator chip: OR51132
I'm curious if anyone using this driver or the developers here have experimented with this card before? Also, if it's possible to install both PCI cards into the same system and use this cxadc
driver for just the pcHDTV HD-5500 and the mainline cx2388x
driver for the Hauppauge quadHD card only?
Thanks!
