Don't know whether implementation is difficult, but this could also be extended to allow for field-specific searches:

author:blip...
bibkey:foo...
title:etc...

it would be amazing to have this search feature! This echoes other workflows, as a lot of latex editors autocomplete your bib key when you do \cite{}. To be clear, this should work when creating a new literature note (to have it for already created notes you just need to have the cite key as a title or put {{citekey}} somewhere in the template.

From what I can tell, @lockshaw provided a good solution to this. It was just not merged by @hans. No one likes to push him, but I saw many stale projects, which degenerated in several forks. @hans can we help with the review somehow?

I used lockshaw/obsidian-citation-plugin, this improvement is great, solved the search issue with custom fields
