Open PDF from obsidian citation note

I was hoping that I could open the citation using the {{zoteroSelectURI}} but that doesn't work for me (not sure what I'm doing wrong).

This blog describes a seemingly straightforward approach for opening pdfs using "Copy Select Item Links" . Which uses the Zutilo plugin to get the link

It seems that if Obsidian could generate this link than it would be trivial to open a pdf from within Obsidian.

I have just faced this problem. It is quite complicated to zero on the cause of the problem. maybe you should add some information about your setup, but here are some steps that you can try to fix the issue. First try to test zotero links does they work on your system? use your web browser and navigate to any zotero-like link (zotero://select/items/@billingsAlgorithmsAssessmentComputer2006) if zotero does not start than you have something wrong with your setup.
