Optimization - Consider making the cleaner faster.

I use Fedora 30 and it takes a long time to run the cleaner to calculate the file size.

I'm gonna bump this up because it has been a while since it was reported. I have not been able to run the cleaner yet, because calculating the file size seems to take forever.

It seems to get out of control because CPU usage is ~25% and RAM was close to 50% at some point.

Here are my specs:

It's a little weird issue - I have two laptops and they behave very differently:

  • a small netbook with low-end Celeron CPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB eMMC drive has cleaner ready as soon as I switch to it's tab
    • summary: good
  • an ultrabook with i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD takes quite a while to load the cleaner tab, although it's still usually under a minute or so..
    • summary: not so good

Same here. The program doesn't seem to ever complete with computing file size. These are my specs:
