Yes, it's a well known workaround, but best would be if @liamdebeasi could just fix the bug that was introduced in https://github.com/ionic-team/ionic-framework/pull/27344

@JeanMeche calling `markForCheck()` or `detectChanges()` after `markAllAsTouched()` still doesn't make any difference for me. What's the fixed version?
