Arrows styling is unreliable

I'm using the latest master commit. I changed a single thing: I used $linkColor to style the application.

From there, I start the app, the color of the arrows is changed:

But after simply pressing F5, they fade to grey:

The odd part is that sometimes, with the cache disabled, refreshing works. Closing the tab and reopening works too.
