GUI SPACE on Mac OSX Sierra not opening the Spotlight

Open mArm-ch opened this issue 7 years ago • 6 comments

With the DuckyScript

GUI SPACE it should open the spotlight. If I do with my hands it works but not with the rubber ducky. Nothing happens.

It is encoded for the right keyboard.

Going to add a bump here from me, not able to open the spotlight search with the GUI SPACE ducky script command.

I found an older issue that mentioned the issue here and the OP said Command Space worked from him back in 2015, but the duckencoder.jar (version 1.2) gives a line error when I try using that instead of GUI SPACE.

This issue effectively prevents the Rubber Ducky from opening the command line on recent versions of OSX/MacOS, which is obviously a big bummer since that's a pretty crucial entry point.

Playing with this a bit more, while they haven't updated the release page for the Ducky Encoder (Wiki still links to version 1.2), if you download the version in the git repo here (currently 2.6.3) and re-encode your ducky script with that encoder, it works fine! 👌

Can someone please give me the step-by-step instructions on how to do this to make it work please? I would really appreciate it!

I wrote up a guide based on my experience, including figuring out this Duck Encoder version issue. Maybe it'll help you:
