No face in preview
The main camera can see my face until I click play or try to generate previews. then it just disappears and I don't know how to fix it
I discovered that the cause of this was my avatar falling about a foot under its original location upon starting. how do I fix this?
update: I don't know what's going on anymore. The preview dummy is instantly 1 foot below it's original position in a falling pose when I click play, but when I click preview in scene, my avatar's center says it's where it's supposed to be, but the avatar itself is 20 feet above that location
The avatar going into a bicycle pose is normal, that's what also happens when we try to face expressions without CGE using the animation editor. The camera normally should auto-parent itself to the preview dummy's head before the previewing starts.
Sometimes the preview will show no face under the following situations that I know of:
- In EE Animation Editor window, if the "Preview animation in scene" button is green, then CGE becomes unable to generate previews properly, so that option should not be used at the same time as preview generation. The button "Preview animation in scene" is optional; it's put there as an extra option for flexibility, and should only be used to preview animations in very specific cases (i.e. animating the tails or wings of an avatar).
- If the animation has 0 animated properties (a blank animation file), the preview will not generate anything usable.
- As long as the Unity Animation window (not Expressions Editor) is in Play mode or Record mode, CGE becomes unable to generate previews properly.
By the way, if you prefer, there is a CGE Feedback Discord ( https://twitter.com/vr_hai/status/1383751429110734856 ).
My availability is limited so I won't be able to reply for long periods of time, so you can leave a message there or continue to post in this GitHub issue.
