Support for Audible audiobook clippings
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Amazon is holding my Audible audiobook bookmarks/notes/highlights hostage, again...
Describe the solution you'd like I would like to access my Audible notes/highlights synced with my Obsidian vault.
Describe alternatives you've considered I've tried several alternatives with limited success. The only available resource found is https://github.com/vatioz/AudibleBookmarks. "AudibleBookmarks" by vatioz. It is an incomplete solution and does not sync with Obsidian.
Additional context Please help to free **all of the Audible notes/highlights from their unjust imprisonment in the cloud. Help them to gain parity with Kindle notes/highlights.
hashtag: No_Notes_Left_Behind !
I feel your frustration as this is no different than the highlights issue - it is our data, so why can we not be free to access it?
I don't have an Audible subscription so my knowledge about the platform is limited.
How did you foresee this actually working with Obsidian?
I know...
Presently, if the Kindle book has an Audible version (each with Amazon's "Whispersync") available, and one happens to have purchased both from Amazon (at a "discount" of course...), then one can pull/view their Audible highlights, bookmarks, and notes within the Kindle version directly.
That is, if I owned the Kindle and Audible versions the same content, my Audible and Kindle annotations will appear together within the Kindle clippings.txt file.
The Obsidian integration would be essentially the same as your Kindle plug-in, I suppose.
Can you share any examples of how highlights made via Audible appear in:
- Amazon Kindle Reader - https://read.amazon.com/notebook
- My Clippings file
I had a read online and cannot see a lot of coverage on how highlights work.
I think it's a separate website on audible.com using their web player.
