Description of the issue(s)

The page linked above is missing a link to the "HW D" of the R4i Gold 3DS RTS's Flashrom.

For context, a friend of mine has this revision and was able to successfully flash ntrboot onto the card, but was unable to restore the flashrom back onto it afterward because he lost his backup and ntrboot_flasher also gave a "cartridge not supported" message. Luckily, I found that I had this exact hardware revision in my collection and was able to make a backup of it for him to forcefully restore. Perhaps this backup could get added to the list for others in the same (rare) predicament?

It seems it already exists? https://github.com/hacks-guide/Guide_3DS/blob/bd73a368ba78bb948f070062c5443bab4c44360a/_pages/en_US/installing-boot9strap-(ntrboot).txt#L105

I believe this is a slightly different card (and the checksum of the firmware is different); the dump I have provided is from the R4i Gold 3DS RTS. Apologies if I am mistaken though.

I did some online digging, and I'm actually not sure if that other card even exists. Will need to be investigated

Actually can you check if the one already on the site works

lifehackerhansol avatar Jul 14 '24 20:07 lifehackerhansol

Looks like that worked fine, the one on the site might just be mislabeled?

Just gonna pop in here regarding this. I'm the friend Aar mentions, and the 3DS Gold RTS firmware differs from the non-RTS version. I checked in HxD and data starts changing around 3000 when compared with the non-RTS version. So this is different enough to probably warrent a backup of this versions firmware as well. image

It should be noted these carts have firmware updates, it could be on different update versions. So assuming RTS features are not lost from either version there's no point having more than one.
