@SAUMILDHANKAR:

Description Update: See the updated description in this comment https://github.com/hackforla/website/issues/3153#issuecomment-1146298473 ~Access the Data is an initiative aimed at identifying and addressing the areas where data literacy education within our communities is needed most. With government policies increasingly relying on data and data analysis, it becomes imperative to increase data literacy in order for citizens to be effective advocates for their communities.~

~Re: Technologies: What is the technologies section? Is that different from tools? Answered in https://github.com/hackforla/website/issues/3153#issuecomment-1141694299~

mxajPrice avatar May 26 '22 11:05 mxajPrice

@mxajPrice

  • Tools are any technologies or software used by the whole team, such as Figma and Google Docs.
  • Technologies are any software or anything else used by only the developers on your team, such as GitHub Pages, Google Apps Script, or GitHub Actions,. Also, technologies do not include any languages, such as Jupyter Notebook.

So, do you want any changes to be made to the technologies section as well? Please let us know if changes are required. If not, please check off the "technologies" action item above. Thank you.

@mxajPrice I added the GitHub profile links for team members you want added by editing your comment here: https://github.com/hackforla/website/issues/3153#issuecomment-1129288007.

  • I couldn't find Judson Lester's GitHub profile. Could you add their GitHub profile link?
  • Also, could you double check those profile links are to the correct GitHub profiles?

Thanks.

Sorry, I have a new update to the description:

With government policies increasingly relying on data and data analysis, it becomes imperative to increase citizens' access and understanding of local government data in order to be effective advocates for their communities.

We are currently working on an MVP, which is a website that will serve as a foundation for the continued Access the Data project. The MVP will consist of a website that hosts a catalog of sources of open government data. This project will focus on Los Angeles County as its backdrop to test the hypothesis that this is a tool the community of community activists and data experts needs and wants.

mxajPrice avatar Jun 03 '22 19:06 mxajPrice

@mxajPrice where is the new overview page?

ExperimentsInHonesty avatar Jun 13 '22 22:06 ExperimentsInHonesty

@ExperimentsInHonesty there isn't one. We do not have a roadmap at the moment and the one on there is outdated information so it needs to be removed.
