Create a Guide: Setting up & Deleting Slack Reminders for your project
Overview
We need to create a guide so that people know how to setup slack reminders.
Action Items
- [ ] Gather examples of how other Hack for LA projects have done, adding each example as a link in the resources section
- [x] Once done, remove the "TG: Gather Examples" label and add the "TG: Draft Template" label
- [ ] ~Create a draft template, either in markdown format in this issue or a google doc in the product management google drive~
- [ ] Once done, remove the "TG: Draft Template" label and add the "TG: Create Guide" label
- [x] Create a guide on how to use ~the template~ feature
- [x] Once done, remove the "TG: Create Guide" label and add the "TG: Review Guide" label
- [x] Review the guide with product management communities of practice
- [x] Once done, remove the "TG: Review Guide" label and add the "TG: Leadership Review" label

@mariastudnicka Love where you are going with this Guide format. Let's customize it to be clear its from Hack for LA. You have some flexibility, but should draw your inspiration from the Hack for LA website. If you want to see all the different headers and stuff we use on that project (much is not published, but is in our figma).
Here is the link that starts on the current pages: Figma, Current Pages (and yes we know there is a lack of consistency between similar headers. We are fixing).
But also look at the pages that are under drafts.
@ExperimentsInHonesty In trying to create a look and feel that is similar to the Hack for LA website, I added the Hack for LA logo, created a header with placeholder text (that can easily be modified) and hopefully addressed your comment. I created a new version to show the delta between the two designs.
@mariastudnicka I can't say enough how much I love what you have done. Question for you... do you think we could add a red map pin (color matching with logo) with concentric circles radiating out from LA to this image
might look horrible but it might be nice to customize the dot image to communicate that this is a message we are sharing with the world.

@ExperimentsInHonesty I tried to match the image you included, but it looks like that was done in Photoshop. I did 2 versions in Figma the best I could to match it.

@mariastudnicka It looks like there are a few notes from me in the doc, although I forgot to put a note here when I originally made them. Can you update the doc?
Additionally, on the UI/UX community of practice we have a slide deck for placing your screenshots in, incase we need to update them. There is a reference to it in the How to make a guide Please make a slide deck (according to the instructions) and put it with the guide in a folder in the drive.
@mariastudnicka @ktjnyc this doc uses a different header and does not the footer we are now putting on all guides. See the guide on how to make a guide to make updates

Also, I am confused. V3 looks weird. It has the header even on the first page (it should start on second page only) and is missing the map, etc. Please see the guide to making guides (still a wip, but the formatting of the first page and header is proper)
Can you provide a link to whatever is the v4 and put it in the top section too, please.

Hi @ExperimentsInHonesty So sorry about the crazy delay. So I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to hack the margins of the header to show no white space with no success. I formatted the header to 0 margins, I also made sure the page setup was at 0 at the top of the page.
The header is there but there's a white space on top of the header. I used V4 doc.
I added the jpg of the header in the drive. i created a new folder called assets so it wouldn't get lost in the files.

@mariastudnicka I figured it out!!! I had migrated the files to the new google shared drive, but had not added everyone yet. You should have gotten an email just now, telling you we have added you to the drive. And you should have access to the files now.
