Research and Consider potential content for Social Safety Net Pages

Open GigiUxR opened this issue 1 year ago • 1 comments

Overview

Food seekers need to be informed of the resources that can connect them to free food but this information can be dispersed , disjointed, and inchoate due to the multitude of participating social safety net entities. FOLA currently lists food pantries and other meal programs that give out free food but does not list any information about social safety net programs that may allow at-risk families to avoid or reduce food insecurity. UX research will be conducted to consider the importance of and type of social safety net information FOLA's website could include that would be helpful for food seeker. Guiding questions for research are as follows:

  • [ ] What information would food seekers expect to find on FOLA's website?
  • [ ] What information would food seekers want to find on FOLA's website?
  • [ ] What info may NOT be wanted / expected but if provided anyway, will benefit them?

Drilled down questions

(purpose of identifying additional resources and figuring out types of resources that would make sense and/or be useful to help food seekers):

  1. Have you received other kinds of resources for free food?
  2. Do you know of any other resources for free food?
  3. What other resources have you found that was helpful to you?
  4. What resources do you wish you had known about that would have helped you?
  5. Can you share resources that could be helpful to others?

Other questions UX research to consider:

This issue can serve as an actionable item towards FOLA's goal of connecting as many food seekers as possible to resources in their community with comprehensive and up to date information.

  • How will we define the scope of "resources" and "comprehensive"? (How relevant to free food? How about resources that help avoid or reduce food insecurity? What level of detail should we provide about the resource e.g., website link or further descriptions? )

Further related issues?

  • How do we ensure that the information remains "up to date"? Periodic research by validation volunteers? Might there be a central source out there to check against? (*Split into a different issue -- PM to consider)
  • How will this change our current User Stories and create new User Stories? (*Split into a different issue ---PM to consider)

(To be re-evaluated to consider smaller issues across road map phases)
