Submit listing for Validation Volunteering to university bulletin of volunteer events

There has been some concern among PMs regarding outdated listings in our directory and possibly updating below the desired rate (rate of update to be more clearly defined?).

Increasing volunteer engagement via university community offices could be one of several solutions.

In line with the work @itserindean is doing with UCLA students currently, we can expand our university engagement beyond our single contact* to grow our validation volunteer pool. (*Currently we have been working with a generous professor who has coordinated through their course our volunteering needs.)

Typically, university "Student Affairs" and/or "Leadership and Community Development" offices (or similar) will maintain a listing of volunteer opportunities. If entities at the university are offering recognition of hours served, etc., then we could coordinate with them accordingly. Here is an example of an office that lists volunteer opps https://www.northwestern.edu/lead-engage/connect/connect-with-community-partners/weekly-volunteering-opportunities.html

Actions Items:

  • [ ] Review October 2022 UCLA program (managed by @itserindean - link to issue here )
  • [ ] Develop success metrics
  • [ ] Consider time commitment
  • [ ] If pursued, consider folding in mandatory research participation

I am going to move this to Prioritized Backlog for now, pending more review of the current UCLA program. We should think about some success metrics and consider the time commitment.
