Content for Data Handling Popup
Overview
If a user:
- starts, but doesn't finish the letter generator
- navigates to a non-letter generator page (Landing page, About, FAQs, etc)
- re-starts the LG
their previous answers will still be there. As a user, this is unexpected and could undermine our privacy claims. To be transparent, we want to give the user the choice as to what to do with their answers.
PMs and Leads decided that having a non-intrusive popup show on non-Letter Generator pages. This popup should have two buttons:
- one to clear their previous answers
- one to continue where they left off

Resources/Notes
- Main Issue: #1163
- inspiration idea for option 2 - toast
- Saving info doesn't make sense bc privacy issues.
- ~Option 1 Autoclear: no, unless some kind warning before changing pages; something intrusive so the user makes an informed choice~
- Initially presented option 2, a popup with two separate button options (clear or continue), but having both seems to make most sense. This option would be a less intrusive popup that would follow the user around non-form pages.
- language in this popup should be gentle; along the lines of 'hey we noticed you didn't finish, do you want to clear your letter or continue where you left off', think the vibe of the Paperclip mascot from Microsoft Word many moons ago, just a helpful buddy.
