[3/2/2023] Meeting Summary

Notes:

• Defined purpose of project: HfLA “Figma” Kit is a guide and resource to help you create or update a workable design file that saves time and effort.
• Reflected on last meeting's insights
• Namestorming session started with presenting what we know: Established uniformity, Save time/effort so things move faster, update or create file so its workable, templates to copy and paste in, clarity for new members
• Discussed stakeholder criteria, but need clarification:

Questions to ask in the next meeting:

• Who are we designing for? (New projects, existing projects, software engineers)
• Before iterating solutions, what is the problem statement?
• Does the existing kit solve that problem?
• Are we working on two separate projects? (Kit + Component Library Template with code)

Met with @ryayyychel today. Her assignment for the next content meeting is to audit the terms used in the DS Starter Template and identify if 1. they are standard terms used by UX designers 2. they need definition 3. there are any alternate terms and 4. are there terms that are usually in a DS but missing here.

Rachel will make a GitHub issue and submit it for approval. I will add any comments and approve it.

• Sandra and Michelle discussed Monday’s all hands meeting and misalignment on understanding of projects
• Yas joins call, Sandra explains the MUI and Material design system and how they were developed in the proces
• We all align on the idea of “UI library, storefront & operations” as the 3 components that make up a successful design system
• Michelle brings up idea of inviting 3 new content designers to join our team to move our projects forward in a timely manner (they all have backgrounds in content and design!)

• [x] The namestorm FigJam needs to go in the Design Systems Figma files instead of Michelle's personal file -Will the names/info transfer properly? If we keep in Michelle's file, can people access it async?
• [x] We need to create a table of the criteria to score the shortlist of names and choose shortlist/winner
• [x] We need to touch base with research to see if there is a way to collab
• [x] How async folks can add a vote

• The namestorm FigJam needs to go in the Design Systems Figma files instead of Michelle's personal file -Will the names/info transfer properly? If we keep in Michelle's file, can people access it async? -Created a table of the criteria to score the shortlist of names -We scored the top 8-9 names collaboratively -One clear winner for FigmaKit which is "HfLA Figma Compass" -A short list for the Starter Kit/Component Library
