This is linked to the following Bug issue that is currently in progress:

And may also be related to this Bug that is also in progress:

Given that this issue with the Guide team's check in should be resolved by fixing the overall check in bug and (potentially) the events timing bug that have already been noted in the issues above, we may close this issue. Plan to discuss in Monday All Team meeting.

@ExperimentsInHonesty & @jianwangcat - while our devs are working on resolving this bug, any PM on the Guides team should be able to manually enable & disable checking in to an event using the "Manually Edit Events Checkin" feature on VRMS.

To do so, follow these steps:

  • Log in to VRMS > go to Projects > select "Guides" > scroll to the bottom of the page until you get to the "Manually Edit Events Checkin" section > find the specific event with the correct date listed and click on the "No" in the "Is this event available for check in now?" (*ignore the time listed next to the event - see below for more info). Once the event displays "YES" next to "Is this event available for check in now?" all users will be able to check into that even immediately.
    • *Please be sure to select the correct date of the event. You will notice that the time of the event in this section may be incorrect, however this can be ignored for the purposes of enabling the check in (this is part of what is causing the bug). By clicking "Yes" to making the event available for check in, all users will be able to check into that even immediately.
    • We recommend enabling check in 30 minutes before the meeting.
    • Once the meeting concludes, follow the same steps to disable the check in feature.
  • Please see the below screen recording for a review of how to complete this:
