Light Theme Interface for Content Pages
Overview
We need to replace dark-themed pages and assets with a light theme in order to improve accessibility and readability across the website. Currently, the dark theme presents problems with printing end-result data due to the amount of ink that the current dark theme would require. Our goal is to create a light-themed interface more centered around optimal readability and sharing data.
Update: It turns out that Version 2 Iterations is where most of the data pages have been held. This is the section of content that will need to be updated.
Action Items
Design:
- [x] Update Design System to reflect light theme
- [x] Replace background colors to #FFFFFF
- [x] Update assets to light theme
- [x] Look through Version 2 Iterations for material that needs to be updated.
- [ ] Archive or make clear labels for assets and canvases that won't be used.
Resources/Instructions
I've created an alternate light version of the website interface. Initially, we had decided to create a light version in order to create a more printer and presentation-friendly version of the Plotly data. Because this seemed to be the root of our issue, the light version may not be necessary aside from the backgrounds of pages used to house data and chats.
Update: There is still material in Version 2_Iterations that needs to be updated.
@melissahermes99 it looks like we can close this issue since the color theme has been implemented. Let me know if there's something I'm missing, else let's close this. Thanks!
All changes have been implemented as intended. Content pages remain light-themed while headers and the map menu (items not designed for print) have been left as their original dark theme.
