Request for Guidance: Implementing Deadband (Tolerance) in Climate Controller

Open selfish opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Hi @hacker-cb,

First and foremost, thank you for the incredible work you've done on this project. It's truly appreciated.

I'm keen on contributing and would like to implement a hot/cold tolerance (deadband) for the climate controller mode. Before diving in, I'd like to seek some guidance to ensure I'm on the right

  1. I've noticed that a similar feature exists for the Switch controller. Is there a specific reason why it hasn't been implemented for the Climate controller? I want to ensure I'm not overlooking any design considerations or reasons it might not be suitable in this context.
  2. If you could point me to the relevant parts of the codebase or any documentation that would be relevant to this feature, it would be immensely helpful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond
