Sidebar detection temporary tabs are triggered by custom shortcuts in Firefox Home

Reproducible even in a new profile created from scratch. The problem occurs when you set up "firefox Home", keeping (only) the shorcut option active and manually adding custom sites, the default ones do not produce the problem. By eliminating these shortcuts, the problem is fixed.

Unfortunatly, even with the new details, I couldn't reproduce.

@incircolo:

  1. could you provide a minimum set of URLs added as custom shortucts which trigger the problem?
  2. Does it occur on startup only, or everytime you delete the history and open a new tab?
  3. Is it just history, or other site data as well?

Thanks!

Try this

  1. reset profile
  2. install noscript
  3. In Setting - Content for Firefox Home (enable only shortcuts)

  1. In Setting - Privacy - History, enable custom and check delete the history after close the app (and there check everything)

  1. now add a custom shortcut in home ("test", "https://www.cnn.com")
  2. close and reopen Firefox
