Youtube continues to show with "(sidebar?)" label even w/o youtube
I'm noticing a persistent (remnant?) of youtube.com scripts even when there is no browser window or tab that is referencing YouTube.
Environment: Ubuntu, Firefox 138, NoScript 13.0.6
Steps to reproduce:
- Launch new browser session
- Open two windows
- In the first window, navigate to something simple (github.com for example, something non-google / without embedded videos)
- Open NoScript menu
- OBSERVATION: Nothing unusual in NoScript
- In the second browser window, navigate to youtube.com
- Open NoScript menu
- OBSERVATION: inside of NoScript (in either window) there is now an entry: "youtube.com (sidebar?)"
- Close the youtube window
- Refresh the other (github) window
- Open NoScript menu
- OBSERVATION: there is a "youtube.com (sidebar?)" entry that shouldn't be present
- See below screenshot...
This persists even to new (blank) tabs or windows...
And it continues to persist until I restart my browser.
Is there some kind of injected/lingering youtube script continuing to run? Or is this an issue with NS? I hope it's the latter.
I have seen this "(sidebar?)" thing on a couple items just lately. Actually I think today (2025-05-21) is the first time I have noticed it (but may well have been there before), aside from Youtube I have seen it for mycroftproject.com as well.
Is this some new UI for background JS (serviceworkers?) or something? Or to do with the new FF sidebar API somehow?
This is on FF 139.0b10 (64-bit) on Windows 10, with a bunch of extensions. Notable sidebar-related ones I have include Tab Stash, Sidebery, and BitWarden.
