Enabling webgl for google.com breaks the google map UI
I was having trouble with google maps today, tried a variety of ways to fix the issue. Deleted cookies, disabled extensions etc. Long story short the issue seems to be the webgl setting, I figured out the problem after making a new firefox profile with only noscript added to it.
In order for google maps to work you have to enable Scripts and Fetch for both google and gstatic. However once the page refreshes it also highlights Frame and Webgl to ask for permission. Enabling Webgl causes the UI around the border of the maps screen to disappear, the button on the bottom left that switches to satellite view, the zoom controls on the bottom right, and the login button at the top right. The search bar remains but doesn't do anything, or only displays a loading circle if you type in commands. Disable webgl and the UI immediately goes back to normal.
I was able to replicate the problem multiple times in this new firefox profile and in my original profile.
