surrogate scripts not working

Open baptx opened this issue 5 years ago • 1 comments

When using addons like uMatrix, RequestPolicy or NoScript and blocking all third-party requests, we need to allow these domains to watch the video on https://www.programme-tv.net/cinema/5422617-a-la-poursuite-de-demain/:

prismamediadigital.com
pmdstatic.net
brightcove.com
brightcove.net
boltdns.net
amazon-adsystem.com

In about:config, I created a surrogate script to avoid doing third-party requests to amazon-adsystem.com and load my own script locally instead: noscript.surrogate.apstag.sources with value c.amazon-adsystem.com/aax2/apstag.js noscript.surrogate.apstag.replacement with value file:///home/XXX/noscript/apstag.js (XXX is replaced with my home folder name, where I have a folder named noscript with the file apstag.js)

However when I try to play the video, I can still see the HTTP request to https://c.amazon-adsystem.com/aax2/apstag.js in the Firefox web console network tab. Do you know why my local script is not used? Maybe surrogate scripts stopped working after Firefox Quantum?

Yes, surrogates stopped working after Quantum. A replacement is in my TODO list, but not quite there yet, sorry.
