Feature request: Pretty links

Hi,

It would be nice to use https://hack.chat/meta instead of https://hack.chat/?meta. This would need a URL rewrite. Can I submit a feature request?

Sorry for the late reply, I've taken some time to think through the changes that would need to be implemented- such a feature would make the setup process more complicated for a user setting up their own instance (404 rules would need to be applied server-side). There would also be non-trivial hurdles to overcome in the client, both legacy and version 2.

Tl;dr: I'm not sure if the increase in code and setup complexity would be worth the benefits.

I will leave this open for discussion though.

Thanks for considering. I'm guessing backwards compatibility is also something to think about if you were to go ahead with this

@chelseyprentice you could use short links for example: go.hack.chat/main
