Could not clone this repo on windows

When I cloned this repo I get: invalid path '2021/Spring-K8s-Workshop-Nov-2021/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings/org.springframework.ide.eclipse.boot.dash

I believe this is because the filename is too long to be supported on Windows. I think the eclipse .metadata can be added to .gitignore and it should resolve the issue.
