Photos also giving heart rate

Open Yadav03 opened this issue 4 years ago • 7 comments

Hi,

I have checked ur code. and tested it with all scenarios. But whether is real face or mobile photo, it is giving same results. it is considering mobile photo as real face and it is giving HR for mobile face.

Real face detection is not included in this project. The given HR is the result of small changes in the pixel values within the face detected. You can combine a liveness detection to prevent fake face.

Is this heart rate approach not suitable for classifying real and fake faces?

No it is not.

Why not ? the frequency and amplitude of the pulse should be different for a live face and a photo

bypolyarka avatar Feb 02 '21 08:02 bypolyarka

If you shake the photo little bit then it will take it as a pulse

Can the idea of measuring heart rate be used in a liveness detection? and how to do it?

bypolyarka avatar Feb 02 '21 09:02 bypolyarka

If it is measuring heart rate for a paper or mobile screen then it is unreliable, I would say, useless and wastage of time.
