Windows 7&8/IE11/mod_hvp 1.18 add image/video/audio doesn't work at all

Open Jarvil opened this issue 6 years ago • 9 comments

Hello,

Add-button doesn't work with Windows 7 and IE11 on h5p.org or in H5P moodle plugin. You just can't click it. If you use Windows 10/IE11 it works but you should fix it also for Windows 7.

steps to repeat:

  1. Open IE11 on Windows 7
  2. Select H5P f.ex. course presentation
  3. click image from the toolbar
  4. Try to click "add" and notice that nothing happens

add

Also "upload video file" button doesn't work at all

Hello,

In mod_hvp 1.12 problem doesn't exist at least with Win8/IE11 combo but with newest 1.18 it does.

Hello,

according our test the problem has started between versions

Version release name 1.12 Version build number 2018110600 Version release name 1.16 Version build number 2019030700

The problem might be in the editor-library

Thanks for reporting this, I've moved the issue to h5p-editor-php-library, which is responsible for rendering the image widget.

Are you sure you are running the latest patch version for IE11? If you could post the exact version information that will be helpful. There appear to be many different versions out there and it appears supporting one(W10) may cause conflicts with another (W7/8).

It's worth noting that Windows 7 is coming to an EOL in little over 6 months, but still, there are other Windows versions supporting IE11 for the unforeseeable future.

I just tested on a Win7 computer here that is running IE 11.0.51, and there was no issue uploading files.

It looks like the IE11 version you're running hasn't received any updates since Oct 2014. I think it will be difficult for us to come by this version, let alone fix the issue. There is also the chance that this is caused by some additional security policy.

Nevertheless, I would recommend that you upgrade to the latest security update for IE11.
