Scheduled Post Support

Open oyvindsaether opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Whalebird could support scheduling posts to be posted at a later time. Similar commercial software for proprietary services support post scheduling.

The potential usefulness for this is that if something starts at say 17:00 one could schedule a post to be posted at 17:00 with "I'm live at whatever" or "Thing is happening right now".

It may also be useful if you want to post 4 things on one day and you want them spaced out with hours apart and you would like to write them all at once (so you can make 4 posts and have them appear with two hours apart by scheduling them).

A user would probably have to leave Whalebird open and running in the background since I do not believe Mastodon or Pleroma or Misskey have native support for this feature. Whalebird would probably have to have some kind of regular worker and timer support.

just wanted to add that I'd support this feature even if it was limited to only working while Whalebird was open. Being able to space out toots so I don't flood my timeline would be totally useful.
