+1 Why? In the Multinational Company I work (Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energies) group policy dictates that by default only Windows Systems can be used.

So I, as an Analyst, I can only use Windows (Not even Linux Virtual Machine); maybe Information Systems Administrators could set up a Linux Environment for us, but we would need appropriate security permissions, etc. etc.
