Ultra HDR support

Open BluePixel4k opened this issue 6 months ago • 2 comments

It would be useful if Imaginary would supported the generation of HDR images.

Many Android phone displays support HDR: https://developer.android.com/media/grow/ultra-hdr/display

https://developer.android.com/media/platform/hdr-image-format

As a reference, ImageMagick supports it already: https://imagemagick.org/script/high-dynamic-range.php

In relation to https://github.com/pulsejet/memories/issues/1110

Thank you!

UltraHDR support depends on libvips/libvips#4645. HDR support should already be in libvips, but I'm not sure if there's something necessary on bimg's or imaginary's side to enable that.

Good to know, thx.

Maybe I have to change the title to ultra HDR to make it clearer.

However, it seems that Imaginary is not currently being actively developed?
