Message counter doesn't work anymore (BT 1.9.0 / Linux Mint 21.1 / TB 102.9.1)
OS: Linux Mint 21.1 Thunderbird: 102.9.1 (Mail profile is redirected to my data-partition via TB conf....) Birdtray: 1.9.0+ds-2
Before (when??) everything went fine, unread counter did count correctly. Not now anymore, I guess for a couple of weeks.
I use my Thunderbird with linking it to my mail profile to my data-partition via profiles.ini and also pointed Birdtray to this path which worked fine until a coouple of weeks. Now Birdtray doesn't show an unread-messages-counter anymore. I can't say if it was after a TB or BT or LinuxMint update...
I already removed the entry in the Birdtray-settings and tried to re-add it - but if I choose the external profile-folder the path is not kept in the settings and Birdtray says it can't finde a profile folder under this path, and it even doesn't create an entry in the "watch" tab.
If I enter my path /mnt/Daten/Eigene Dateien/INSTANT - Programme/ThunderbirdPortable/Data/profile
in the settings menu it is changed to /mnt/Daten
and no entry is created if I press add. I also tried with excape \
before all space
s
I also re-installed Birdtray after purging.
Anything I should try? Cheers, Robert
Seems connected with #517 .... hm ... solution?
Same problem with Debian 12 (Bookworm): Thunderbird and Birdtray, both from the official repo, are no longer working together.
Actually, I notice on another computer with Debian 12 (bookworm) was properly counting unread emails. So on the PC where it wasn't working I backup the profile, update to the latest TB from the Debian repo and was working OK. Why? I did the same 1 month ago and it wasn't working. Probably a minor update of TB since the last try. Very happy, it goes on working OK, until now. I didn't update ANYTHING not TB nor Birdtray, but it has stopped working. Basically it seem working at random. The only thing could have change is the index because once per month I archive older emails and run "compact folder".
Thunderbird 115, same problem.
