Additional context
A lot has changed in Thunderbird 91*
Have you tried Settings -> Advance -> [X] Force index file re-read every N seconds?
Yes "Forcing read index does not help."
Ok, leaving it open them. I'm using 78.12 and usually the last to upgrade.
Same issue here, my counter is currently stuck at 7, no matter how many emails are unread.
Same here on 91.2.1. no message count.
Might be related : I don't display message count, only change icon if there is new email. The icon does change as expected, but doesn't revert back to normal after opening the new email. I've also tried "Force index read" to no avail.
I"m on Windows 10 x64, TB 91.2.1, Birdtray release 1.9.0
Are there entries in the log (you can see it in Advanced > Show Log Window) notifying about monitored folder change but not actually changing the number? For me, with Thunberbird 91, that was fixed after compacting the folder in question and restarting both tray and the bird.
that was fixed after compacting the folder
@sasha- What do you mean by that?
@ltstereo
I right-clicked on the folder that was not returning correct unread count in the Thunderbird and selected "compact". After that process was completed and I restarted Thunderbird folder was fine again.
@sasha- This changes nothing for me. I do not get any counters displayed. Which TB version do you have? I am at 91.3.2 and BT 1.9.0
@ltstereo
It did not hurt to try.
TB here is 91.3.1 birdtray is today's master ( with line 388 of src/windowtools_x11.cpp commented out to prevent hiding).
