Request: Option to reset the "different icon when unread" without reading

Thank you for the good app. I have feature request:

I use the "Different icon when unread" option to inform me unintrusively about new emails. However, I often receive emails which are not urgent or important. I would like to be able to return the icon to the normal icon, whilst leaving those emails marked as unread (I'll read them later, they're not urgent). Now, as far as I am aware, it does not seem possible to return the icon without marking the new emails as read.

Alternatively, there could be an option "Different icon when new email" (new = arrived after last interaction with Thunderbird).

You could try a right-click on the icon and select 'ignore unread emails'. My request is for that function to be just a simple click on the icon.

I don't get any Birdtray options when right clicking. Perhaps because I have Ubuntu MATE, and when I right click I get the options for the Indicator Applet Complete

We should probably mark MATE and Cinnamon desktop managers as officially unsupported.
