Can we use it without "ip" ?

Open aspryne opened this issue 5 years ago • 2 comments

Describe the change

i want to watch my cluster from an Icinga master.

Current situation

My cluster doesn't have public IP and he is not in the same network of my icinga master (master got public ip).

Should

Can we run the "script" and command from my cluster directly, to send informations to my icinga master.

Additional context

I know its complicated to explain but i want know if i can send kube status form my cluster to my icinga master. In this case agent icinga send informations to master icinga but master icinga has nothing to do except display on icingaweb2 because i can't sent check_command to my icinga agent from master.

thanks for your help

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve. What is your use case?

If you deploy kube-icinga on your kubernetes cluster (Which is usually the way to deploy kube-icinga) you have to configure your icinga2 cluster/host (https://github.com/gyselroth/kube-icinga#deployment)

Sorry its hard to explain, I have a master icinga with public IP, i have also a cluster kubernetes (with a « master ») But the cluster is in a VPC and he doesn’t have public IP. For me I had to install kubernetes-icinga etc on my Icinga2 master to sets off the check command on my cluster. But i have no IP target to give to my icinga master. I can’t tell to my icinga master : The target for check command is 192.168.1.2 Because they are not in the same network and my cluster doesn’t have IP.

I use Amazon AWS to harbor my host. Provenance : Courrierhttps://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986 pour Windows 10
