I think this might be doable with the [extension interface](https://github.com/gvx/bitser/pull/20#issuecomment-778632630) I plan on adding. I'll check back in once I have a workable prototype!
It looks like it has the same mechanism as `hump.class`, so it should work already! I'll try it out, see if I can confirm that it works, add corresponding tests,...
Maybe change it to "Hackers' Oath" or something similar? In the HN thread, scj raised their concern about naming the oath after someone who wasn't involved in its creation, and...
Alternatively, "Programmers' Oath" or "Software Engineers' Oath", but I prefer "Hackers' Oath" myself. I'd say that only people who wouldn't have to take the oath would have such negative connotations,...
I both love and hate this idea! On the one hand, it's so much less messy than globals. On the other hand, this seems to suggest you could do...
Unfortunately, no-one's worked on this for over 14 years. The last commit was [me trying to port this to LÖVE 0.6.1](/bartbes/lovelybigplanet/commit/a8ff90107788e1b2375e0f347a89a0f47b16f2bb). The current version of LÖVE is 11.5 (which is...
Interesting! This seems to rely heavily on a `ffi.typeinfo`, of which I can't find any documentation. Do you happen to know of any?
Currently, the only place where this is directly relevant is when we're serializing numbers (except integers in the range [-27, 100], those are fine), but many other types involve serializing...
Unfortunately, @masakk1, bitser is built from the ground up to rely on the `ffi` library, and that will not change if/when bitser is endian safe.
