Splash screen image not working after edit

Open mano1979 opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

What were you doing?

I opened the splash screen image in photoshop and added my club's logo. Saved it and copied it back to the uSD card (/boot/splash.png)

What did you expect to happen?

The splash screen would show, like it did before the change

What happened instead?

I get a black screen with hdmi signal skipping on and off untill the boot up is complete.

Was there an error message displayed? What did it say?

no

Version of FullPageOS?

[Can be found in /etc/fullpageos_version ALWAYS INCLUDE.]

0.13.0

Screenshot(s) showing the problem:

[If applicable. Always include if unsure or reporting UI issues.]

If you are building FullPageOS - provide a build.log that is created for the build

I have a suspicion that it has something to do with the image's permissions. They are not the same as the original. However i am not able to change them. I tried multiple times to change the permissions (chmod) and the owner (chown) but after i did it and i check the file, the permissions and owner haven't changed.

how the file is after editing:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 56678 Nov 25 21:07 /boot/splash.png```

and before editing (original):

```Manos-MacBook-Pro-2:~ biletsky$ ls -l /Volumes/boot/splash.png
-rwxrwxrwx  1 pi  staff  57559 Feb 11  2020 /Volumes/boot/splash.png```
Hey, can you post the filetype of the splash screen image?
Use the output of the file command
