Blockchain .json v1 wallet (exausted)

Open pedrohrcunha opened this issue 7 years ago • 3 comments

Hello,

I am sure of my password. It contains 15 characters plus a symbol. I am using a PT-BR (Portuguese-Brazilian) keyboard in a northamerican Sony Vaio (which I used back in 2014, for my wallet, with another keyboard, its original one).

I tried ALOT of possibilities already, mostly like %0,2P at the end and many written variations of the structure of my password (AAAbbbCCC1111ddd@). I'm starting to think that maybe it has something to do with blockchain also? I have strong indications that my password is really what it is because I used it for other btc-related stuff and my memory is OK for that time.

Where to go from here? The wallet is from the beggining of 2014. I extracted the json from blockchain.downloader.py, accordingly. Any help would be dearly apreciated and tipped also.

Take a look at the issue I just filed #203 - you might have a wallet format that is creating a false-negative. See my initial comments for the lines to fix (replace 'guid' with 'address_book' on appropriate lines in btcrpass.py), or wait for an update from the author. Cheers, Ian.

@pedrohrcunha Did you find a solution to your problem ? I have similar issue after Blockchain started supporting BTC Cash in Nov,2017. I am 100% sure of my password, but it doesn't work. With BTC Recover i have tried all my 160 passwords (i use/used till now in all the websites) , nothing worked.
