Resting response
Under some circumstances, saying nothing is a valid response. I am considering experimenting with adding functionality for a special response type that indicates that the bot should not respond. It would also be interesting to see if a long pause in a conversation with a user could be interpreted as a non-response in which case the bot could learn to reply with something like "Are you still there?".
Possible attributes
- duration - the length of time that the pause lasts
Use cases
- An adapter needs a default response for a case where it should not respond (0 confidence)
- A filter removes all possible responses
I think this can turned into questions bot-user,
- If user repeating same questions asking Are you a robot?
- Restrict users flooding with chat message other than corpus data
