Splunk Cloud Compatibility Question
Splunk Cloud compatibility has stopped
Since September 2022, TrackMe V1 is not compatible anymore for new deployments in Splunk Cloud.
For the time being, existing deployments can allow the execution of the deprecated HTML based dashboards: https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/SplunkCloud/9.0.2208/ReleaseNotes/NewSplunkCloudFeatures
First, I want to say great job on this app!
I am currently on Splunk Cloud 8.2.2202.1 , Is this (taken from the Splunkbase description) saying that if I get upgraded to v9.x , that TrackMe will no longer work? Or is it saying it will work but I have to allow older versions of jQuery?
Also, is there an ETA for version 2 of this app?
Thanks, -C
Hi @jacobc8701
First, I want to say great job on this app!
Thank you ;-)
To answer your question:

Option 2, when the stack gets upgraded, you will need to enable the JQuery toggle in the settings, then the UI will work again as usually.
What you cannot do any longer as a Splunk Cloud customer is requesting the deployment of TrackMe, if it wasn't previously installed.
Also, is there an ETA for version 2 of this app?
Hard working on that, imminent I can say, I strongly think before the end of the year.

@guilhemmarchand Thank you for the quick response. Aside from the jQuery toggle, will I need to modify anything else?
TrackMe is a used by our security team to monitor data outages so we want to ensure everything will still work once we get upgraded.

Great choice ;-) You can be sure that TrackMe V2 is going to be seriously changing!
Aside from the jQuery toggle, will I need to modify anything else?
No, the JQuery is only affecting the UI temporarily, nothing from the backend, and all customers confirmed everything was cleared out once they hit the toggle
@guilhemmarchand Any new ETA on v2.0? I missed the boat in getting 1.2 requested before Splunk disallowed it. I'm excited to get v2.0 installed.
Thanks much Guilhem for your work on this solution!
Hi @bray1111 !
Any new ETA on v2.0?
We are finalising the last legal and licensing aspects of TrackMe V2 (TrackMe will come in two modes, the free limited edition which provides the same level of features than TrackMe V1 at the minimum, and the subscription edition which will provide access to all features with no restrictions)
We will be ready in the first weeks of January!
Hi @guilhemmarchand. No intention of being the "are we there yet?" type, just trying to do some planning here... any news about the 2.0 release? 😊. Thanks a lot for your work.
I am totally happy you ask ;-)
This is coming, very very soon!
