Won't initiate Skype call depending on Contact's phone number format

It works with numbers that have dash separators or that are all numbers, but not with numbers formatted with () around the area code, e.g. (773) 555-1212.

I was able to use the Address Book Scrubber app as a workaround (it reformatted all numbers to fit one of the workable versions).

This problem only emerged for me either after installing Mojave or updating to Skype 8.33.0.41, I'm not sure which.
