Feedback from users in Senegal:

If you have Orbot running and need to make a call on WhatsApp, you'll have trouble. People need to go turn it off before they can make calls.

WhatsApp calls use UDP (SCTP for video?) for ICE (STUN/TURN) and for voice data (SRTP) itself. Unlikely it works with Orbot unless Tor can tunnel UDP (doubt it).

An app I use confirms there's one outgoing "UDP connection" per call:

I made 2 calls (which corresponds to two "UDP connections") and one to an NTP endpoint time.android.com, and two other WhatsApp endpoints static.whatsapp.net and g.whatsapp.net.
