Orbot VPN mode enabled-apps ignoring
since the last couple of days i have encountered a little problem.
on my devices :
- HTC one m8 + lineage for microg (14.1-20190111-m8)
- Samsung s7 edge (unkonown)
out of the sudden the vpn mode stopped working
logs (swipe from right to left) says 100% bootstrapped...
tor browser(org.torproject.torbrowser) and orfox(info.guardianproject.orfox) do work check.torproject.org returns "congrat..."
but vpn-enabled firefox,chrome,duckduckgo,... seem to bypass tor-vpn check.torproject.org returns "sorry..."
already tried reinstall and older versions - nothing helped
orbot versions : f-droid : 16.1.2-RC-2-tor-0.4.1.5-rc (first starting to bypass) 16.1.0-RC-2-tor-0.4.0.4-rc (downgrade 1) 16.1.0-RC-1-tor-0.4.0.4-rc (downgrade 2)
i didnt update system or other relevant apps - just at some point it stopped working
may conflict with theese apps (even though i had them installed and used for months) (just the m8 main account?
- netguard (f-droid : eu.faircode.netguard)
- vpn hotspot (f-droid : be.mygood.hotspot)
just tested on m8 created new account/user on phone installed firefox, orbot and tor-b : this works (key-symbol in status bar -> firefox output check.torproject.org 'congrat...'
so far i can say this is problem with some settings/apps/confilicts from main account for m8 (no os problem cause both users are on same device,os
but i only have orbot and banking/whatsapp/firefox/games on s7, so there shouldnt be any conflicts but still vpn-mode is not working there either
i currently do not have access to s7 so i cant do anything about that, i'll fix this later
after reading https://github.com/M66B/NetGuard/blob/master/FAQ.md#user-content-faq54 i reconfigured my m8 main account
deactivate vpn-mode in orbot at netguard config proxy
still not working
