Better liveblog bylines

Could we make the liveblog bylines better?

I checked with the US who were the ones asking for this, but universally it would be very well liked, and yes as we discussed, ideally it'd be that when a specific post in a live blog has a byline it would have functionality and styling of other bylines

so:
author name
name linking to their profile page
byline picture if available
and free text area to add things like "Europe correspondent" or "in Berlin", or both
and ideally styled not like it currently is but like a byline is
(I think you could leave out the ability to follow that author etc that apps offers on main byline as that would be way too much clutter)

if there's anyway of sneaking this into the migration of live blogs, that would be excellent …

All sensible, and relatively easy, all data there. For ages now, especially if there was no byline pic (or fallback), they’ve looked like body text!

Different story with

as not currently available in Composer as soon as linked byline added (allows either a, just one, linked byline or free text, but not both). If we would to add, there is a question: how to make it remembered for all blocks bylined by that person (otherwise, inconsistencies would creep in as adding it multiple times would be prone to mistakes. And boring. Remembering not trivial either… what if you edit one, etc?). My cynic take: do all the others and see how much this one is still needed.
