Substitutions inside tables break

Open LinuxJedi opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

When using substitutions inside table (the |substitute| format) riv breaks the substitution and table layout, it appears to be thinking that the pipes were part of the table design.

That's the same for preformatted block using |.

Dear gu-fan!
The problem is really annoying, especially for big tables!

The line-parsing seems to be a little bit to "strong" for pipe-signs, i think. Could it be possible, to parse for something like / | / instead of /|/ - consider the spaces arround the pipe? (i'am not good in python, so i did not find the right place for do that) This way, it could be possible, to write something like [paramA|paramB|paramC] inside a table-cell, without break the columns formatting.

Hope, you can fix it soon - we need it.

Kind regards from Germany :)

I apologize for creating another ticket #146 with the same issue, but I agree with @tron5 - it's very important for me, kind of deal-breaker between using rst or asciidoc!
