Thank you for your example, I was looking at how to update the directed edge colours of a networkx graph in plotly, and found your post here referring to this code, and looking at your "y": annotation_height(grandmother_year), # 0.75, line, made me realise it may be possible to update the annotations (that I use to create directed edges using arrows).

After updating my code analogous to yours, where I define the annotation/arrow colour using a function (within the callback/update function), like your "y": annotation_height(grandmother_year), # 0.75,, it worked.
