Watch hangs then after initializing it quits

Recently, when I try to run my watch command, it hangs for a short while then just quits without erroring. Any idea what might be happening? I've tried running the sub-tasks alone (e.g. grunt watch:scss) but they all do the same thing.

The tasks on their own run fine as well (e.g. grunt sass)

I have also, this problem on Mac OS - 10.11.6 (15G1004). It's no longer going to stop or existing on terminal.
