[Feature request] Add a /mute command to silence certain users
Would it be possible to add a /mute command (and an /unmute) that would would prevent certain users from talking in the group? I don't want to mute the group nor kick said user, I just want to mute them for a little while.
I haven't seen any other issues relevant to this issue so I decided to make this one myself. If I missed it, please let me known.
You can do this pretty easily with the new admin features. Just apply a restriction on sending messages for x hours
@NotAFile Still, I prefer to do it by replying to a user and being able to do something like /warn 30m Please follow the pinned rules. It's just a lot faster IMO.
However, if it's too much work or you don't see the point, feel free to drop this issue. ;)
@hipio I understand your point and I'm actually willing to add some shortcuts to restrict/unrestrict users. Anyway, as @NotAFile said, since these actions are already available on every up-to-date Telegram client out there (well, lets ignore Telegram Web) and are also pretty easy to reach, adding these commands is not a priority for now so they are not coming anytime soon :(
@RememberTheAir I'm not in a rush, just thought it would be a nice addition. ;)
@RememberTheAir but kick and ban commands are there and are easier than mute to do, is only my opinion, I'm not demanding anything. BTW great Telegram bot, is quite useful for my 1,5k group ☺ (@hipio is an admin of my group xD)
@yangm97 hello, is an integration of / mute and / unmute planned? this function would make many admins' jobs easier 😇
if possible, a time module would also be ingenious for example: / mute 1m or 1h or 1d m, minute - h, hour - d, day think that many would be happy about this function. you could start a survey for this on telegram. possibly also with a call for donations!
