Clicking Home when From is missing should search from Home
Love the new UI btw! They're just something that's caught me off more than once.
After searching for a destination on the main page, and hitting the red floating Directions button, I'm taken to a screen where I can enter in my starting position. There are a few options available already too such as my home and work.
I want to leave from my home, so I press my home, and instead of the starting position changing to my home, the destination has, and I have to go all the back to the beginning to get that destination back.
Ideally, the following would happen:
- I'd select Directions for a destination
- I'm taken to the directions screen, with the Starting Position box preselected
- At this point I can start typing a starting position or select one of the available options
- Selecting my home position should pre-fill the starting position
Ideally whatever field the cursor is currently in should be replaced when tapping a location, which feels intuitive. Then all that would be necessary is having the starting position field preselected instead of the destination field.
It feels like a lot of new people could run into the dead end I did above, and I still do so a couple times even though I know about it :)

Thanks! You are first ;) At least the first who has said so.

If you enable GPS, it will use your current location automatically as a starting point.

You have a corner case here, because most people of GPS activated and normally pressing the Home gets you to home not from it. But I guess we could try to detect this case where the From location is missing and change the normal behavior in this case.
Ah I see. I keep GPS disabled and enable only when needed, but I'll often I'll want to see how long it will take to get from one place to another even if I'm not at that place currently, as what happened today.
It just feels like if I've selected a destination and am then presented with locations, presumably clicking one will then fill in the starting position, but I can see how prefilling the starting position with the location would clarify things :)
I run into the same "problem" as Just an idea: @anoadragon453: I have GPS disabled and select the starting point from the main screen. But it does not appear as "From" point, but as "To". Detecting if the From location is missing and then put the selected location into the "From" field (instead of "To" field) makes a lot of sense. Or make it a configurable option where the selected location should go ...
It would also help tremendously to have a "Switch to and from" button instantly accessible (instead of having this buried in the menu) as mentioned in #528.
Me and a friend have both broken GPS. So we always rely on doing it manually. Additonally, I often just look from different destinations where to go. Would be nice to see it in the next update. If GPS is active, it could be handled otherwise, too
Would be really good to have at least a more senseful field-selection if I press the red-button
