Feature request: Extend "Pick block" function to bring items from whole inventory

Any chance you could add middle-click to pick block in survival? It's available in creative but would be super useful whole building in survival.

Doesn't it work already? It selects the matching block in the hotbar.

Sorry, I meant if the item is in your inventory regardless of where it is. It works for items in the hotbar. I believe they added the feature in 1.9 or 1.10. I guess I could have been a little clearer.
